Emergency Preparedness and Planning

Develop a home emergency response plan to

include necessary emergency resources and a storage area for these resources (create

a first aid kit) or develop an emergency response plan for the YLI meeting setting and

conduct an emergency drill (i.e., evacuation or shelter-in-place). 

YLI Cultural Experience (Trip to Jamaica)

Cultural Exchange

Have a cross-cultural social gathering with another youth group

from a different culture or host a cross-cultural food-tasting activity. Select a country/

geographic area to learn about that culture’s food (this activity might include visiting a

restaurant, bakery, or a setting that supports an Exchange). 

YLI Exploring Outside Nature

Physical Fitness, Wellness, and Nutrition Activity

Pick an app to track fitness and diet

or participate in a nutritional cooking or exercise class (this activity can be done as a

team or individual and discussion during a session).

Being the Change We Want to See

Youth will participate in a required youth-led group.

A community service project that focuses on promoting social change through youth giving

of their time and talent to improve their communities and the world.

YLI Plant Today, Bloom Tomorrow: Let's Make the World Greener Together

Planting for the Planet (Environmental Project)

Youth will participate in a youth-led group environment project

that focuses on their collective ability to improve and protect the environment at scale

by planting at least one tree. Additional environmental activities are encouraged (i.e.,

plant flowers at school or park, take care of them, or support a community garden).
